#Cash heist Boksburg: Area reopened to traffic

According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Captain Juanita Coetzer, the area around the site of an attempted cash-in-transit heist that took place just after 6am this morning (July 5) has been cleared and all roads reopened to traffic.

A suspect died and two security guards were injured when the van was attacked on the corner of Atlas and Middle roads.

National police spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo confirmed that while there had been a shoot-out between the security personnel and the suspects, the deceased suspect sustained no bullet wounds, but likely died from the impact of one of the explosions when the suspects blew up the cash van.
