Western Extension murder and attempted murder case postponed again

The accused was arrested on March 5 after allegedly stabbing his fiancée and her daughter.

The murder and attempted murder case against Charles Barker (40) was postponed to July 24, in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on June 26.

The case has been postponed due to the pending decision by the director of public prosecutions to transfer the matter to the Pretoria High Court.

Barker, while on parole for murder, was arrested on March 5 after allegedly stabbing Adrianne Coke (21) to death and stabbing her mother (his fiancée), Bettina-Ann Coke, at their home in Kemston Avenue, Western Extension.

The incident happened at about 7.30am and Adrianne was declared dead on the scene.
