Police arrested three men in Kingsway Avenue, following a business robbery in Chief Luthuli Park, on June 18.
Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mopeli said the Ekurhuleni Central Trio Task Team received a tip-off about the whereabouts of the alleged suspects.
“As they were driving to the area they saw a white Avanza that was involved in the robbery. Police then stopped the vehicle which had three occupants,” said Mopeli.
“As police searched the vehicle they found a firearm, cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money.”
Mopeli said two of the three men were linked to the business robbery.
The two men, aged 21 and 24 years, were charged for business robbery and being in possession of stolen goods.
The other 41-year-old suspect was charged for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The trio will appear at the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
