Mother Jenna Kruger said meow meow meow and after four years, little Boots came back.
If that introduction was a bit confusing, but struck the ‘mother duck said quack quack quack’ song in your head, then we are fairly on the right path in explaining the disappearance and return of Boots the cat.

It was a cold and rainy night, as Morehill resident, Jenna explained.
“Boots (now six years old) had been with us for just over a year and then disappeared in September 2013,” she said.
The domestic short haired male was a gift from Jenna’s mother, Tracy Bothma, to her grandson, Tylor (now seven years old).
“When he went missing, we looked wherever for him – we checked at the local vets, visited the SPCA weekly, joined missing pets groups and even put up posters.”
Eventually, their search proved not to be in vain when the owner of Craig View Veterinary Clinic, in Atlasville, Dr Cliff Bull, had Boots brought in as a stray on May 20.
“We usually check if the stray has a microchip,” Bull said.
“But Boots did not have one so we uploaded a photo of him on Facebook.”
Jenna was still very active on the missing animals pages and on May 22 she saw the photograph of Boots.
“I called the number and visited the clinic to see if it was our Boots,” she said.
“He reacted when he saw me and I knew this was our Boots.”
Bull, who opened the clinic in July 2017, sponsored a microchip for Boots so if he were to ever get lost again, the Kruger family could be contacted.
“We encourage owners to use a microchip for their pets,” he said.
The Kruger family is happy to have their puuur-fect furbaby back home.
“We have other pets now too, so it is an adjustment for Boots and them,” Jenna said.
“But he is settling in well. He is close to Kylee and Tylor is happy to have him back; it feels surreal to have found him again.”
Nobody knows Boots’ whereabouts for the past four years, except that he was found in Northmead, but the Kruger family never gave up hope and now Boots is home where he belongs.
