Danielle de Jager (20) now stands a chance to make it to the top 12 candidates, who will be announced on May 3.

This beauty has been living in Benoni for 19 years and attended Farrarmere Primary School and matriculated from Benoni High School.

De Jager is studying BHSc Biokinetics with honours at the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth.

She said her role model is Charlize Theron.

“She has been my role model for many years. Charlize is beautiful and successful and has travelled a long road to reap the rewards she has obtained today,” she said.

She said fame and opportunity were not given to her on a plate and she had to work hard for it.

“Charlize is a woman of character and values that I also pride myself on,” she said.

De Jager admits she has little experience in pageants, but this is not her first.

“I have entered Miss Joburg Teen in 2014 and was placed in the Top 10 and Miss Benoni in 2016 and was crowned first princess,” she said.

She said she would like to win the prestigious Miss South Africa title as its something she has dreamed of her entire life.

“I have that inner passion to experience and achieve the highest level, to feel a sense of fulfillment and achievement within myself. It will also provide a platform to improve my own growth and development.

“I would like to be a role model who can inspire, encourage and influence others to achieve their dreams, no matter what,” she explained.

She said if she wins she will make children’s rights a priority.

“Children are very dear to my heart and I see them as the future of not only Benoni but of our world. I will prioritise them and contribute whenever and wherever I can to attend to their needs, growth and development,” she said.

When asked what makes Benoni special to her, she said the residents.

“Benoni is a very friendly and welcoming city, the residents allow people to achieve success in whichever field they choose,” she said.
