The City Times reported a case on April 2 when a man said aircraft tyres are being dumped on his elderly parents’ property.
Zane Garner said he believes a council bakkie went to the illegal dumping site in Road Number Five and took photos of the tyres.
He said they did not remove the tyres.
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago said the precinct commander, Chief Supt Nomawethu Mafa, is aware of the problem.
“We rely greatly on the community to assist to take a photo and call the precinct station or the call centre on 011 458 0911 as it is not always possible to deploy officers to that location.
“Documentary evidence will enable us to trace the culprits via the registration number and action will be taken,” he said.
