Benoni SAPS, together with other departments in the police, joined to gather water for the Cape Town water crisis.
Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said the crisis is one that touched the hearts of the police who each decided to bring five-litre bottled water on March 2.
“Our Crime Prevention Unit, however, managed to get a sponsor from Clover that also gave water,” Sekele said.
Over 500 litres of water was gathered just from the five-litre bottles received from the SAPS.
Sekele said their hearts and wishes go out to those in need, which is what brought on this project.
