Still no answers about when Swallow Road will be fixed

The metro has not replied to questions.

Since parts of Swallow Road was dug up for stabilisation, the road has not been tarred properly.

Illegal dumping on Lancaster Road creates concern

The City Times did a site visit on Friday (February 16) following the rain we had the day before and the road is still sandy and pothole-riddled.

Ward 24 Clr Kabelo Mahonko explained that water was running down from Barbet Road into Swallow Road where it then became stagnant which is why the road needed to be fixed.

“As a rates and tax paying citizen, when will Swallow Road be restored to a driveable road for goodness sake?” was an email the City Times received from a frustrated user of the road.

The City Times have queried Mahonko and the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) whether there will be an allocation in the budget for the 2018/2019 financial year to fix Swallow Road, but no response was received at the time of going to print.
