Burnt pit bull found in bag was not tortured – SPCA

A community member informed the organisation.

The SPCA does not believe that the dog that was found partially burnt in Cloverdene today (February 19) was tortured.

Benoni SPCA inspector Shiven Bodasing said they received a call from a community member notifying them of the carcass in an open field in Fifth Road.

The male pit bull had bandages strapped to two legs and was found in an animal feed bag.

Bodasing said the canine was not completely burnt and that no marks indicating a struggle were present in the bag or on the loose soil.

There were no bite marks on the animal and the canines were still in good condition, suggesting the animal was not involved in dog fighting, said Bodasing.
