Two wanted for Mayfield shooting

The motive of the killing is unknown

Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after two men were shot in Mayfield, Putfontein.

The incident occurred on February 10 at around 11.30pm.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson, Const Justice Ramaube said it is alleged that the two men were closing a gate at their home when they were suddenly ambushed.

“The alleged suspects approached them and opened fire,” said Ramaube.

“Immediately after the shooting, one of the victims managed to crawl to a neighbour’s house to seek help.”

Ramaube said the two men were rushed to the Daveyton Main Clinic, where one of them died.

The other man was transferred to the Far East Rand Hospital.

The motive of the killing is unknown.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward or contact the Putfontein SAPS on 011 845 6315.
