Two men, Sibusiso Mahlangu (20) and Xolani Mayisela (20), were sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for murder in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on January 24.
On October 9, 2016, the body of a 30-year-old man was found.
Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson Capt Ramothakhi Maqabe said a case of murder was opened after a man was found stabbed to death in Mandela Section, Etwatwa.
Mahlangu and Mayisela were arrested on October 25, 2016.
“Further investigations revealed that the duo attempted to rob the man,” said Maqabe.
“They then fled the scene.”
Both Mahlangu and Mayisela are serving their sentences in Modderbee Prison.
