The Members of Benoni Van Ryn Rotary Anns again arranged a lovely outing for Benoni’s gardening enthusiasts.

This was the 20th consecutive Beautiful Gardens of Benoni hosted by the Anns.
Rotary Ann and event organiser Judy Bath said the event attracted about 700 people.
“I want to thank all of the participants for getting their gardens in the best condition, thinking about the expenses and so forth,” said Bath.
She also thanked community members for their support, especially those who have been supporting the Beautiful Gardens of Benoni events over the past 20 years.
Families and friends joined to look at the six most beautiful gardens in Benoni.
Eventgoers asked questions about the various gardens and homeowners and gardeners were happy to assist.
This year’s participants were Stewart and Vicki McFarlane, Hermanus and Antoinette Swanepoel, Maureen and Neville Cornish, Helen Pollack and Jen and Vic Anderson.
The Tea Garden was in Nick and Charmaine Cole-Niven’s garden.
The amount raised over the two-day event was not known at the time of going to print.
These three musketeers were seen having the times of their lives at 3 Joubert Street in Rynfield. They are brothers Luke Jones (8) and Daniel Jones (4) with their cousin Joshua Jones (12). The garden belongs to Jen and Vic Anderson.

Bethany Heldson (6) wore a flower crown in the spirit of this year’s annual Beautiful Gardens of Benoni event. She is seen smelling the purple flowers in the garden of Maureen and Neville Cornish in 8 Amarella Street, Alphen Park.

Claudette Wiese, Peter Jansen and Jenny Cloete made the event a social event with friends. They are at 44 Deane Crescent, Northmead Extension Seven. Helen Pollack is the homeowner.

Amos Sibanyoni, and his partner in gardening Hendro Swanepoel, sit in an old car as one of the focus points of the garden. Sibanyoni said if your grass is well looked-after, the whole garden will look well-looked after. He added that maintained rose bushes will also give your garden a well-rounded look. Homeowner Hermanus Swanepoel agreed.
Ernst and Elza Germishuys admired the spectacular flowers and peaceful surroundings. They are in Helen Pollack’s garden at 44 Deane Crescent, Northmead Extension Seven.
Peter and Cherry Hawkins are admiring the koi pond of Steward and Vicky McFarlane at 21 Ambleside Avenue, Lakefield. They are also keen gardeners and scouted for some tips.
