These are the Grade Ones of Verkenner Primary School, Ashbury College, Rynsoord Primary School, Crystal Park Primary School, St Columba’s School and Lee Rand Primary School.
Standing taller than most of his peers, young Sanele Tsele (6) is also a part of the new Grade One group in Rynsoord Primary School.
Endinako Mlengwa (6) is enjoying snack time. She is in Grade One at Lee Rand Primary School.
Siyanda Khumalo (6) is in Grade One at Lee Rand Primary School.
Nondumiso Nkambule (6) looks sharp in her school uniform. She is in Verkenner Primary School.
These twin sisters are Katlego and Tshego More. They are six years old and will attend Crystal Park Primary School as Grade Ones this year.
Little Amahle Zwane (6) is looking cute as a button in her school uniform. She is in Grade One at Rynsoord Primary School.
Mom Nomhle Nkosi gives her son, Oluhle (6), one last kiss before sending him to his first year of primary school. Oluhle is in Ashbury College.
Sipehelele Mahlangu (6) and Karabo Mpafa (7) quickly started chatting to each other on their first day of Grade One. They are learners at Lee Rand Primary School.
The Manamela family is ready for the the new academic year. Dad Kenneth is standing next to Grade One learner Bonollo (6). His sister, Loretta (7), is one year his senior and in Grade Two and next to her is mom Tshimollo. The little ones are attending Crystal Park Primary School.
Rethabile Nkosi (6) is shy on her first day of Grade One. She is attending Rynsoord Primary School this year.
Azania Mavuso (6) is practising her colouring skills. She is in Grade One at St Columba’s School.
Tanian Costa (7) is enjoying his first week in Grade One. St Columba’s School began classes on January 10.
These girls soon became friends on their first day of Grade One. They are Akani Madonzela (6) and Tembelihle Lekwape (6) and attend Verkenner Primary School.
Ryan Bell (6) and Katya Hall (6) are learning how to write numbers. They are Grade Ones in St Columba’s School.
It is all smiles as Vuyani Lizo Makwedini (6) gets ready to be welcomed by Ashbury College.
Little Mpho Tsebogo (6) is entering Grade One with confidence. He is in Crystal Park Primary School.
As per school tradition, matric learner Njabulo Mlangeni will escort little Temogo Kale (6) to his Grade One class. They are Ashbury College learners.
Twins Onthatile and Oratile Makhuba (6) joined Verkenner Primary School as Grade Ones this year. They said they don’t mind being in separate classes.
Young Tumisho (6) is excited for his first day at Crystal Park Primary School and mom, Lucy Mishikaro, cannot be any prouder.
