Alleged drug dealer arrested

The Ekurhuleni Central Tactical Team arrested a man for dealing in drugs on January 4, in Daveyton.

Police received a tip-off about the alleged drug dealer and he was arrested while walking on Qayi Street around 4pm.

Ekurhuleni Central Cluster police spokesperson, Lt Col Mack Mngomezulu said the man was found in possession of 20 pokes and 15 bags of dagga valued at approximately R1 300 were seized.

“Cash amounting to R1 410, which is suspected to be proceeds from the dealings, was also confiscated.”

The man was detained at the Daveyton Police Station.

He is expected to appear at the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court today (January 5).
