Toddler critical after being hit by vehicle

A three-year-old boy was flown to a hospital in Johannesburg in a critical condition after being knocked by a vehicle in Farrarmere.

The incident took place on Kei Road at around 7.45am on Wednesday morning.

“The boy was apparently crossing the road with his grandparent when he was knocked by the vehicle,” said ER24 spokesperson Clair Wolstencroft.

“He is in a critical condition after he sustained head injuries.”

The boy was knocked off his bicycle.

The driver of the light motor vehicle escaped injury.

According to Wolstencroft, an ER24 Oneplan helicopter was called to the scene to transport the minor to hospital.
