Lynne Felix, principal of the senior college at Ashton International College, said they are very proud of all their matriculants.

The school received a total of 50 distinctions and a 100 per cent pass rate.

“Congratulations to all of them, and I really also want to thank the staff for their hard work,” Felix said.

Ashton hosted 53 Grade 12 learners in 2017, and celebrated an 88.6 per cent university exemption pass rate.

St Dunstan’s College head Michael McConnachie was “pleased and relieved” by his school’s 100 per cent pass rate.

“I want to pay tribute to the staff, learners and the parents for their countless hours of work,” he said.

“I wish the learners all the best.”

McConnachie said learners exceeded their own and the school’s expectations, and he was especially proud of the learners who did well despite having personal issues to deal with.

Ninety-nine St Dunstan’s learners wrote, and the college achieved a total of 84 distinctions and a 94 per cent university exemption pass rate.

Brentwood Park resident and parent Loraine Long said she was “so thrilled” for her daughter Jenna, who attended St Andrew’s School for Girls in Bedfordview.

Jenna received seven distinctions, in Afrikaans, English, life orientation, life sciences, mathematics, physical sciences and visual arts.

“Her marks are testament to her dedication and drive in pursuit of studying medicine,” her proud mother said.
