Owner desperate as dog disappears again

Two-year-old toy pom Trixie has been missing since December 1 and her owner, Lillian Victor, is desperate to have her back.

“She is pregnant and is my late mom’s dog, she is all we have of my mom,” Victor said.

Trixie went missing from Northmead on December 1 and was picked up by the SPCA in Benoni on the following day.

However, before she could be reunited with her owner, the dog mysteriously went missing again.

“The SPCA did fetch the dog in Northmead on December 2, but the same afternoon the dog went missing from our holding kennels,” said Benoni SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore.

According to Finnemore, she is uncertain how the dog was removed from the kennels, but she has been in contact with Victor to assist in finding the dog once more.

Finnemore said a reward of R500 is being offered for Trixie’s return.

“We have also put up and emailed posters of the dog to local vets and SPCAs,” Finnemore said.

According to Victor, her family searched for Trixie from December 2 and were told the dog had been found by the SPCA, who then told them to visit the shelter on Monday (December 4) as they were closed on the Sunday.

“Unfortunately we could not go to the shelter on the Monday, so we went on the Saturday (December 9),” Victor said.

“That is when we found out Trixie is missing again.”

Victor said the SPCA has been very helpful with finding the dog, and she just wants Trixie back.

If anyone has any information about Trixie’s whereabouts, the SPCA can be contacted on 011 894 2814/5.
