Armed robbers hit Daveyton Mall

The police are searching for six men after a grocery store was robbed in Daveyton Mall on December 19.

The incident occurred at around 12.30pm.

Daveyton SAPS spokesperson, Capt Mesh Makole, said six men entered the store and suddenly three of them produced firearms.

“They pointed the firearms at the staff and customers and threatened to shoot them if they didn’t co-operate,” said Makole.

“They then instructed the cashiers to remove money from the tills and put it inside a plastic bag.”

The six men fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported.

A case of business robbery has been opened at the Daveyton Police Station.

The police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward or call 011 845 9800 or crime stop on 08600 10111.
