Pedestrian killed on N12 highway
A pedestrian (in his 20s) was killed after being hit by several vehicles on the N12 highway near the Tom Jones off-ramp on Tuesday night.
“ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at 10.45pm to find the body of a man lying in the fast lane of the highway,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
Meiring said the body was lying approximately five metres away from one light motor vehicle that did stop.
“Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life,” he said.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.”
According to Meiring, the driver of the light motor vehicle that stopped, managed to escape any injury.
Local authorities were at the scene for further investigation.
