Child (3) hospitalised after near-drowning incident in Northmead

A three-year-old boy was transported to hospital following a near-drowning in Northmead this afternoon (December 17).

Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson, said paramedics arrived just after 12.10pm and found the boy outside.

“It is believed that shortly after the boy fell into the swimming pool, bystander CPR was initiated by a family member,” said Huyssteen.

The child was transported to hospital for further medical care.
