Norah’s Educare Centre needs help rebuilding

Norah’s Educare Centre in Putfontein needs your assistance in rebuilding the facility after it was destroyed by the severe storm on October 9.

The storm wrecked three classrooms and the hall.

This centre is home to vulnerable children aged between three months and 18 years and provides academic, social and emotional support.

It caters for 250 children.

The children are now being taught inside a tent.

The centre’s Heather Griffin said since the severe storm, they have received funds from various stakeholders; however, it is not enough to rebuild the centre.

“We are in need of funds and building material in order to start rebuilding the damaged classrooms and hall,” said Griffin.

“It would be great to have the centre rebuilt by March 2018,” said Griffin.

Griffin added that rebuilding the centre would cost about R300 000.

The centre would also appreciate donations of non-perishable food items, cleaning materials, stationery and educational toys.

To help, contact Griffin on 083 627 4546 or Mary Zanker on 083 280 2957.
