Two dogs killed, man hospitalised during business robbery

A business robbery at an Etwatwa school on Friday morning left one security guard hospitalised and two dogs dead.

“Two unknown males entered the premises and pointed a firearm and spear at the two guards,” said Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson, Ramothakhi Maqabe.

“They assaulted them badly and tied them up using steel wires.

“One guard who was badly assaulted was taken to Far East Rand Hospital.”

According to Maqabe, three dogs were on the premises at the time, but one managed to escape.

“They poisoned the two dogs with Two Step poison it seems,” he said.

Several items were stolen at the school including projectors and screens.

“The value of the stolen property is unknown at this stage,” Maqabe concluded.

Police are investigating.
