The man was arrested in Chris Hani, Daveyton, on November 11 at about 4.25pm.
A case of rape was opened on November 3 at the Daveyton Police Station.
Daveyton SAPS spokesperson Capt Mesh Makole said the woman was raped at her home, allegedly by one of her sons.
“When she screamed for help, the man fled the scene,” said Makole.
Police were called to the scene and the woman was taken to the nearest clinic.
The man is being detained at the Daveyton Police Station and will appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court soon.
