The accused appeared at the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (October 24).

It is alleged that the toddler was playing at the apartment of the accused who is the neighbour of the boy’s grandparents.
“The case was handed over to the SAPS’ Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Investigations (FCS) unit,” said Actonville SAPS spokesperson, Captain Pheello Mothapo.
“Police are investigating the matter.”
