Two injured in separate Northmead accidents

Two people were injured in two separate accidents in Benoni last night (October 22).

The first happened in Northmead, on Hanekam Street, at about 6pm.

Clair Wolstencroft, ER24 spokesperson, said a man sustained moderate injuries when he crashed the vehicle he was driving into a tree.

The person was transported to the Netcare Linmed Hospital.

No other people or vehicles were involved.

In another incident, two cars collided in Northmead, on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Great North Road.
The crash happened at about 7pm.

A man and a woman were in the one vehicle.

The female was not taken to hospital, but the male sustained serious injuries and was transported to Life the Glynnwood Hospital.

Wolstencroft said rescue services had to extricate the person from the vehicle.

The man in the second car did not need hospitalisation.
