Bully victim Louis de Jonge not yet cremated

Pierre de Jonge, the biological father of Louis de Jonge, said his son will finally be cremated after being at the Springs Government Mortuary for more than a month after his death.

The 13-year-old died after an alleged bullying incident.

Louis’s body is scheduled to be cremated on October 26 although the date is yet to be finalised.

Pierre received assistance from an unnamed good-doer to help organise his son’s cremation.

An emotional de Jonge claims he was the first person who went to see his son’s body and that no other family member has been there since his son’s death.

“Family members are playing victim when the only true victim is my son,” said de Jonge who is outraged that his son’s body hasn’t been collected yet.

His corpse is decomposing in a government mortuary.”

He said the whole situation has been a “cat and mouse game” and he is relieved his son will finally be put to rest.

Pierre said he wanted to get his son’s body out of the morgue about three weeks ago but a family member stopped him from doing so.

Elmarie Bianchina, Louis’s mother said she did not want to speak to the media and referred the City Times to her lawyer, Karen Jonker.

Jonker said on October 23 the parents had reached a consensus on the body so both parties can have access to the ashes of their child.

Louis’ ashes will be placed in a wall of memory at the Benoni Cemetery.

Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson Lt Col Mack Mgomezulu said there has been no development in the final post-mortem and that the final post-mortem could take from six weeks to six years.

A preliminary post-mortem released on September 27 stated Louis had died of an intracranial abscess.
