A storm tore through the area on October 9.

“We received a call for help for 150 homes that lost roofs,” said the club’s Beaulieu Maré.

“On more investigation we found that some homes had been totally destroyed and there was a great need for items such as blankets, food, water etc.

“We have been able to donate 470 blankets as well as food, nappies and baby milk so far.”

Further assistance is being planned to help with rebuilding.

The club is appealing to the public to assist with donations, especially items such as roof sheeting and timber.
