Police retrieve body from lake
An unidentified male’s body was found in the Civic Lake today (October 4).
The man is estimated to be between his late 30s and early 40s.

Officials reportedly responded to the scene when a young man who works in the area phoned to report a human-like figure in the dam.
According to Capt Nomsa Sekele, Benoni SAPS spokesperson, the cause of death is still unknown.
The SAPS Gauteng’s Waterwing Unit’s WO Martin Potgieter retrieved the body about 1.30pm.
An inquest docket has been opened.
