N12 highway closed as police officer is airlifted to hospital

A police officer was critically injured in an accident on the N12 highway on October 4.

The single-vehicle collision happened after the Kingsway off-ramp, when travelling in a westerly direction.

ER24 spokesperson Liam Hardy said the vehicle rolled and the male police member was found outside the vehicle when paramedics arrived.

Hardy said the west-bound section of the highway was closed for a helicopter to land.

The man was flown to the Milpark Hospital.

The highway has since been reopened.
