Benoni Northerns hosts night market

A night market is held on the last Friday of every month at Benoni Northerns Sports Club.

Candice Pembe from Kempton Park sold different kinds of perfumes.

It gives Benonians a platform to sell what they have to offer, enjoy the atmosphere, eat good food and have a few drinks after a long week.

Event co-ordinator Gaylie Harford said the market is a social event arranged for the community.

The u-12 soccer team and their coach from Farrarmere Primary School sold boerewors rolls. They are raising funds to go to Spain to play international league soccer next year. They are: Cameron Walker (12), Taine Chard (11), Matthew Robinson (11), Daniel Goosen (12), coach Dyllan Gebhardt, Ricardo Pinto (11), Munashe Mukand (11) and Stuart Walker (11).

Husband and wife Marius and Silvia Steenkamp have been making goats cheese and they sell it at local markets. They have also won various awards for their cheese.
