Ekurhuleni receives more ambulances

Ekurhuleni officially launched 36 new ambulances and seven primary response vehicles worth a total of R34-million on August 26.

According to William Ntladi, media liaison officer for the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services said the vehicles will result in better rescue and emergency medical services within the city.

The Executive mayor of Ekurhuleni, Clr Mzwandile Masina, officially presented the vehicles to the hundreds of community members who attended the function held at Leon Ferreira Fire Station in Boksburg.

Masina handed over the keys after conducting an inspection with the service provider who fitted the fleet and made sure they were ready for action.

Red lights and sirens blared throughout the station in celebration of the new fleet.

Councillors, led by the MMC for Community Safety, Clr Vivian Chauke, and other municipal officials all welcomed the new fleet with enthusiasm.
