Personal hygiene items collected in attempt to break the Guinness World Record

Re/Max Randgro has colleted a total of 21 221 personal hygiene items for the under-privileged in an attempt to beat the Guinness World Record for such a feat.

The existing world record stands at 20 000 units.

Community members came in their numbers to donate items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, tissues and toilet rolls.

Items were collected over two days (August 25 and 26) at their offices in Lakefield.

Other drop-off points included Rynfield Clicks, Rynfield Dischem, Pick n Pay Northmead, Pick n Pay Lakefield, Farrarmere Pick n Pay and Oakfields Pick n Pay, Northmead Square, Atlasville Spar and Farrarmere Dischem.

In 2014, the estate agency set the world record for collecting the most pet food – with the help of the Benoni and Boksburg community.

The estate agency will distribute these much-needed personal hygiene items to 30 certified NGOs such as The Greater Benoni Child Welfare, Home-Start SA, Life Choices Pregnancy and Crisis Centre, The Almond Tree Baby Home, The 100% Foundation, Pregnancy Community Centre, Church of SA and iThemba Rape and Trauma Support Centre, amongst others.

This is the company’s way of giving back to the community.
