Allan Nestadt, son of Morrie Nestadt, dies
Allan Nestadt (93) is the first of Morrie Nestadt’s children to die, on August 11.
Nestadt was buried on August 13, North of Tel Aviv, Israel.
Nestadt who was born on October 15, was schooled at Benoni West Primary and then matriculated from Benoni High School.
Thereafter he studied at Wits University.
During the 1940s he left South Africa to become a pediatrician.
“He returned to South Africa and settled in Durban where he built up a very successful practice,” said his brother, Gerald Nestadt.
He married Rebecca Kronic with whom he had three daughters and a son.
Two of his daughters moved to Israel in the 1970s and Allan emigrated there in the 1980s.
Gerald Nestadt, who turns 96 in November, still resides in Benoni but Allan’s twin brother Stanley lives in San Diego and his youngest brother, Harry Nestadt, is a retired judge in Sydney.
