Man has no option but to take his hounds on long runs

The Bredell resident was pictured on the R23 towards High Road on Sunday, jogging with no fewer than
five large Bouviers – and one little dog, a dachshund.

He said his animals force him to take them for a run.

“They watch me with eagle eyes. The moment I get dressed they get anxious, so I have no option but to take them for a run,” he said.

Van der Hoven said he goes for two runs a week, each about 11km long.

When the City Times took the photo, Van der Hoven asked whether the dachshund had made it into the shot.
