Locals plan to tour the continent

Benoni band Adam’s Eulogy was established in July 2014 and they are making waves in the music industry.

The duo, Ntokozo Mathabela (Daveyton) and Janice Mokae (Northmead) established Adam’s Eulogy after meeting by chance at Bellamath Studios in Daveyton.

“We discovered that we share the same philosophy and ideology about faith, music, business and life,” Mokae said.

“We call our sound soul/funk; our music is influenced by a fusion of blues, jazz, alternative and neo-soul music.

“We purposely try to stay away from restricting our compositions and creativity to a particular genre; we enjoy making music without limitations.”

Mathabela joined the band because it was a lifelong dream to make music professionally.

The band was also a dream come true for Mokae who joined because she believes that she was born to sing and compose music.

“Our short-term goals are to tour the continent of Africa and long-term objectives are to travel the world and to share our music with people of different cultures, race and language,” the duo said.

“We desire to see unique South Africa sounds and artistic creative products compete very well in the global market.”

Mokae and Mathabela are influenced by their belief in God.

“Our faith plays a big part in our lives. It keeps us afloat when the challenges of life seem to drown our hopes and dreams,” they said.

“We believe sharing the love of Christ through our music because music brings healing, inspiration and hope to listeners.”

Adam’s Eulogy can be acknowledged for several achievements since its inception.

“We were blessed with an opportunity to play a stripped down performance on Kaya FM with the legendary Georgie on Georgie in the afternoon show,” the duo added.

“That was and will remain a memorable day seeing as though Georgie retired his mic last month and is no longer the host of the midday show anymore.”

According to the duo, they have been play-listed on South African radio stations like North-West FM, Umhlobo Wenene, Motsweding FM and African Crest Radio to name a few.

Apart from making music for the public to enjoy, the duo also enjoys family time when they are not in the studio.

“Time spent with family and friends is time well spent; we regard time a precious commodity and we lavishly invest it in quality time with our loved ones,” they said.
