Man sentenced to 15 years for murder

Thembinkosi Tshabalala (30) was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment on May 10, in the Benoni Regional Court, after he was found guilty of murder.

On February 25, Tshabalala stabbed Coreira Bila (30) in his upper body at Mogoba, in Mayfield.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube said there was a quarrel between Tshabalala and the deceased.

Tshabalala fled the scene after he stabbed the victim.

“Police received a tip-off from the community about Tshababala’s whereabouts and investigated,” said Ramaube.

He was then arrested on February 26, in Vanderbijlpark.

He will be serving his sentence at Moordebee Prison.

Putfontein SAPS station commander Lt.Col Wellington Mathiane praised Det-Sgt Simon Masako for his outstanding investigative work.
