Man allegedly rapes teenager at gunpoint

Police are searching for a man who raped a teenage girl in Chief Albert Luthuli Park yesterday (June 27).

“The victim alleges that she was alone at home when she heard a knock on the door,” said Crystal Park SAPS communications officer W/O Rudi Sieberts.

“She opened [the door] and with a security gate still locked she found an unknown male at the door.”

The man told the girl he was there to repair her father’s car to which she said he should return when her parents were home.

“The suspect then grabbed her hand through the security gate and threatened her with a knife and ordered her to open the door,” Sieberts said.

The man allegedly raped the girl at gunpoint.

“After the ordeal, the suspect threatened the victim not to tell anybody about the rape, otherwise he would kill her. He then left,” added Sieberts.

The communications officer said the victim claims to have seen her rapist, who has a scar on his face, in the area of the N12 informal settlement in Chief Albert Luthuli Park.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information or can assist in identifying the perpetrator to come forward and contact the local police station on 011 969 4880/1/2/3 or 0860 10111.
