UPDATE: Three arrested in connection with vehicle stolen from Rynfield couple who were assaulted

Three suspects were arrested in Alberton on a charge of being in possession of the car stolen from Peet and Ina Peens last week.

Peet Peens retired in March 2015, after he taught mathematics for 50 years at Laerskool Rynfield. Peet is seen with his wife Ina. They were attacked in their home in Rynfield.

The couple was assaulted and tied up in their Rynfield home on June 14.

The robbers stole a TV, a safe and several other items from the home, before driving off with the couple’s car.

Capt Nomsa Sekele, Benoni SAPS spokesperson, said the EMPD made the arrest on Thursday afternoon (June 22).
