Scrap turns to cash

The Benoni Lakes Lions Club would like to thank those who supported their Recycle for Sight project.

The Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club embarked on a campaign to encourage residents to recycle their e-waste by dropping it off at the Desco Electronic Recyclers containers, at the Lakeside Mall. All items collected will be weighed and the proceeds will contribute to the club's Recycle for Sight initiative. The project ran from February 22 to May 5.

A total of 2 536kg of e-waste was collected during the recycling drive.

The club also thanks Lakeside Mall and Desco Electronic Recyclers for their partnership in this initiative.

The R2 060 raised will be used towards Lions’ sight projects in the community.
