Walk a mile in her shoes

“Sharing the little that we have with those who don’t have in the community gives me great joy.”

These are the words of Bake ’n Mo bakery owner in Daveyton, Thembi Moloto.

Every year, Moloto dedicates herself to giving back to needy children in the community.

This year Moloto and her husband, Ntu, donated 100 pair of school shoes, jerseys and socks to four learners from 25 schools in Daveyton and Etwatwa.Ntu

The celebration was held at Rosemary Dabula Care for the Aged, in Daveyton on June 9.

Moloto shared a few words of wisdom with the learners.

“I love you all so much and that is why I want to share what I have with you. You are important and valuable to the community. Always be confident no matter the situation back home. You are tomorrow’s leaders so never doubt your abilities,” said Moloto.

Throughout the day the learners sang and danced while master of ceremonies, Mzandile Jongwe, executive director of Black Diamond entertained them.

Beverly Vilakazi, from the Department of Education, said they are grateful to the Molotos for giving back to the community as school uniforms create unity among the children.

Thato Zwane, a Grade Five learner from Katlego Primary School, said she is thankful for everything that Moloto is doing for them.

Letsha Primary School learner Thabo Mthombeni said he is grateful for the new uniform as it will make a difference to his school work.

Learners, teachers and elders of the old age home were also treated to lunch after the gifts were handed over.
