Three hurt as SAPS vehicle and bakkie collide

Two police members and one civilian were injured in a two-vehicle accident on the corner of Great North Road and Webb Street today (June 9).

The collision, involving an SAPS light motor vehicle and a double-cab bakkie, happened at about 1.30pm.

This is the same intersection where a police minibus was involved in an accident on March 6 with four other vehicles.

About 19 people were injured in that crash, one of whom was in a critical condition.

Liam Hardy, ER24 spokesperson, said two male police officers were transported to the Life the Glynnwood Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

A woman who was in the bakkie was also transported to hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

At 2.20pm, there were heavy delays in both directions along Great North Road.
