A large number of buildings and houses have gone up in flames, with thousands of people evacuating their homes last night.
Nick Maré, the president of the Benoni Lakes Lions Club, said club members last night agreed to make the donation.
He said people who would like to donate to the cause through the Lions can contact him on 082 572 2488.
