WO Rudi Sieberts, Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson, said the Ekurhuleni Central Cluster Tactical Team was patrolling along Lekala Street when they received information about a person with a firearm.
“The members proceeded to the address and found a person who matched the description,” said Sieberts.
While searching the premises, police discovered a firearm with the serial number filed off and three rounds of live ammunition.
The man is charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
He is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
