Security officers find tied-up domestic worker

Two men tied up a domestic worker before robbing a house in Mathers Street, Rynfield, at around 10am today (May 3).

Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson Const Zunickha Essakjee said it is alleged that two men entered the premises and told the domestic worker they were there to fix the electric fence.

“The woman opened the door for them. One of the men pointed a firearm at her while the other one produced a knife,” said Essakjee.

Essakjee added that the woman was tied up and the men proceeded to search the home.

The woman was found by a CMS officer.

The robbers drove off in a blue Honda, having stolen a TV, computer and cellphone.

No injuries were reported and no were arrests made.

A case of house robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station.
