Fantastic prizes to be won in annual BCT cake bake competition

Time is running out to enter the 10th Benoni City Times Mother’s Day Cake Bake Competition happening on May 4.

Cherrylane Gourmet Café in Northmead will again play host to this event which aims to be bigger and better with HunTer as the entertainer.

To enter or for more information contact Sharon Husselmann or Clarice Mncwabe at the City Times, on 011 425 0164 from 8.30am to 4pm (Monday to Friday).

Bakers must be at the café on 14th Avenue and Fifth Street, Northmead by 7.30am to register and drop off their cakes.

The cakes will be registered according to the following categories: professional, fun, tarts (sweet and savoury), raw cakes, cupcakes and tartlets.

After the cake registration, the cakes will be judged s and then enjoyed by the invited guests of Benoni.

The judges are: Loraine Krugel, Berry Legg better (Miz Gooz Berry), Xanthe Weissnar, Wendy Bernhardt, Moira Wall, Paul Smith, Shawn Govender, Dejané Poil and Charmelle Retief.

Prizes up for grabs are:

• Baker’s hamper (R1 000)
• Gift hamper (R500)
• Six breakfast vouchers (R50 each)
• Food voucher (R200)
• Biltong hamper (R500)
• Two baskets of flowers (R160)
• Flowers (R500)
• Bakers hamper (R500)
• Scarves and R500 voucher
• Two food vouchers (buy one get one free), two wines and 10 per cent discount for table of four
• Two blow wave vouchers
• Three cook books (R100 each)
• Five fruit and vegetable vouchers (R100 each)
• Jewellery voucher (R500)
• Biltong hamper (R500)
• Shopping voucher (R1 000)
• 10 cake rice flour packs
• Baking equipment (R 2000)
• Treatment cut and blow voucher.
