Kon Tiki around the corner

The time is fast approaching for Cubs, Scouts and Rover crews to once again show their worth at the annual Kon Tiki event at Arrowe Park from May 13 to 14.

The event is one of the biggest on the Scouting calendar, where hundreds of Scouts from Gauteng, Polokwane and Mpumalanga will participate.

About 50 rafts are expected to be launched on Homestead Dam from 11am on May 13, where groups will be tasked with building rafts and setting sail on Homestead Dam on Saturday, for 24 hours.

There will also be a Beaver challenge, aimed to entertain the Cubs – aged between seven to 14 – during the day on Saturday.

Members of the public are welcome to attend on Saturday and Sunday, at Arrowe Park, in Lakefield Extension 21.

There will be an entry fee.
