Mothapo has been a police officer for 26 years.
He was in charge of social crime prevention at Daveyton SAPS, before moving to Etwatwa SAPS in 2016.
Mothapo is looking forward to his new challenge.
He said he will always be available to listen to the community’s concerns and work with all stakeholders in the area.
The previous spokesperson, Capt Ramothakhi Maqabe, is now the Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson.
