As of May 1, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) will no longer use refuse bags.

“Waste in the Benoni area will be collected using the high level bin lifter vehicles,” said EMM spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
“Waste in black refuse bags will no longer be collected due the waste trucks’ heightened structure.”
The bins may still be collected from the depot at 4 Golden Drive, from 7am until 3pm from Monday to Friday.
