Actonville doctor’s case postponed

The case against Dr Mohamed Amin Ahmed has been postponed until May 4, for further investigation.

Ahmed, whose practice is based in Actonville, was arrested by the Hawks on February 16.

According to Lieut-Col Robert Netshiunda, a spokesperson for the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks), Ahmed was arrested on charges of contravening the Medicines Control Act and the possession of suspected stolen medication.

Ahmed appeared in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on February 17.

The case was first postponed until March 22, and Ahmed was released on bail of R20 000.
