At least 19 involved in Great North accident

At least 19 people were involved in the accident which happened on Great North Road this afternoon (March 6).

A police vehicle was involved in the accident.

The five-vehicle accident, which included a police Quantum, happened at around 4pm on the corner of Great North Road and Webb Street.

Annine Dormehl, ER24 spokesperson, said of those involved 15 people were transported to hospital.

A female victim was airlifted in a Netcare 911 helicopter in a critical condition.

The remaining patients sustained minor to moderate injuries.
